Machine Translation (softskill)



1.  SDL Free Translation

Advantages:

·   This application supports 43 languages
·         Support doc(x), .ppt(x), .odt, .pdf & .txt (Maximum file size 5MB)
·         This application also support to print translation, so we can print the text directly.
·         You can send e-mail too.
·         This application is free online translation.

Disadvantages :

·         The application not usually give us the right grammar checker , for example :
-  saya sedang menulis surat (source language)
- I wrote a letter (false)
- I am Writing a letter  (true)



2.  Ginger 

Advantages : 

·         This aplication have more than 40 languages supported
·         Ginger have some tools to help us to translate the text, there are :
1)  Write ---> you can write better because this application will be check the grammar.
2)  Translate ---> you can translate the text in your language into target language, and you can also know how to speak the text.
3)  Define ----> this tool to give us define the word that we can’t understand.
4)  Synonyms ----> to find synonyms for words.
5)  Favorite
·         We can see how to use the application, because there is the tutorial.

Disadvantages :

·         Text reader is only available in Ginger premium.
·         Sometime this application is useless if your connection is bad.

3.  Systrans

Advantages :

·         There is the dictionary to help us to know the vocabulary from the another languages.


·         Systrans support the special characters.


Disadvantages :

·         Systrans just support 15 languages, indonesia language the one of languages that not available in this application.
·         We must register to get access some applications, such as RSS, File, and My dictionary.

4.  Wordbee
  • Wordbee automates the translation workflow, giving customers a system that reduces ad-hoc project management and increases productivity.
  • Translation project management is easier in Wordbee, especially where internal translation teams, external translators, and external service providers collaborate across multiple documents.
5.  Trados

SDL Trados is a computer-assisted translation software suite,[1] originally developed by the German company Trados GmbH and currently available from SDL International, a provider of translation management software, content management and language services. It provides translation memory and terminology management. SDL Trados Studio 2014 supports over 70 different file types,[4] including: various markup and tagged formats such as SGML, XML, HTML, XLIFF, SDLXLIFF (Studio's native format for translation), OpenDocument files; straight text files; source code files, such as Java and Microsoft .NET; Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint; and some Adobe file formats, such as PDF, FrameMaker, InDesign, and InCopy.
